Crossovers are at the forefront: the best-selling cars in Europe have become known

In total, 15.6 thousand new cars of this model were sold in the EU markets during the month, which is 9% more than last year. The second most popular was electric crossover Tesla Model Y – 13.4 thousand units (-38%).

In third place is the compact crossover Toyota Yaris Cross, 13.2 thousand units (+24%). The fourth result was determined by the Volkswagen T-Roc – 12.8 thousand units (-15%). Renault Clio closes the TOP 5 – 12.1 thousand units (-5%).

At the same time, the ranking of the most popular passenger cars in the world in 2024 is led by the electric crossover Tesla Model Y. In general, since the beginning of the year, the sale of this electric vehicle has reached 785,591 units to reach, that is. 1.9% higher than for the same period in 2023.

In general, the TOP 5 models of new passenger cars for the period between January and August 2024 included:

• Tesla Model Y – 785,591 units (+1.9%);
• Toyota Corolla – 741,982 units (+3.8%);
• Toyota RAV4 – 673,050 units (+19.5%);
• Ford F Series – 572,062 units (-5.9%);
• Chevrolet Silverado – 486 143 pieces (+15.5%).
