According to Cars Direct, the Mazda CX-5 crossover will lose its diesel engine – in some countries, including the United States, it is currently equipped with a 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine. Environmentalists have nothing to do with it: the reason is the lack of popularity of the model. First of all, the price affected it: a diesel crossover is about four thousand dollars more expensive than a gasoline in the same configuration. In addition, Skyactiv-D fuel consumption is about eight liters per 100 kilometers, which is comparable to the performance of the 2.5-liter gasoline “aspirated” Mazda.
