Experts tested the handling of the Hyundai Tucson hybrid crossover. The model could not cope with the “moose test” at the required speed. Video published on YouTube channel km77.com.
Plug-in hybrid Hyundai Tucson was not as maneuverable as experts expected. Interestingly, the single-platform crossover Kia Sportage showed one of the best results in the moose test.
For tests, a version with a 1.6-liter engine and an electric motor with a capacity of 265 hp was used. The tires were Michelin Primacy 4 (235/50 R19).
Hyundai Tucson passed the slalom test first. His result was mediocre, as it took exactly 24 seconds for the crossover to pass the obstacle course. By comparison, the Mercedes-Benz EQE and MINI Cooper SE Countryman were faster.
During the “moose test” the appearance of an unpredictable obstacle on the road is simulated. The task of the test car is to avoid a collision and quickly change lanes. To successfully pass the test, you need to maneuver at a speed of 77 km / h.
At a speed of 78 km / h, the driver began to lose control. The best result of passing the “moose test” was the speed of 74 km/h.
