The Chinese company GAC adheres to the set schedule for the introduction of models to our market: following a large crossover GS8 and minivan GN8 dealers now have mid-size SUVs GAC GS5… This model debuted two years ago, and not in the Middle Kingdom, but at the Paris Motor Show. The size of the GS5 is comparable to the Mitsubishi Outlander or Nissan X-Trail: length – 4695 mm, width – 1885 mm, height – 1726 mm.
On the Russian market, the GAC GS5 is available with a turbocharger 1.5 (137 hp, 216 Nm), which works in tandem with the “mechanics” (it is installed only on basic versions) or with a six-speed “automatic” Aisin. Only front-wheel drive, and you should not count on the appearance of an all-wheel drive version: it is not even on the home market. However, the rear suspension is independent, multi-link.

The initial Comfort equipment includes a stabilization system, air conditioning, a media system with an eight-inch screen, heated windshield, electric mirrors, a sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels, but there are only two airbags, according to the tradition of the Chinese car industry. The Comfort version with “automatic” is more expensive by as much as 120 thousand rubles, while of the additional bonuses there is only heated front seats.
The Elite version has side airbags, “leather” interior, power driver’s seat, keyless entry system, engine start button, cruise control, rear view camera, rear parking sensors and roof rails. The Luxe equipment includes LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, a leather-braided steering wheel and buttons, a large display in the instrument cluster, front parking sensors and 18-inch wheels.
Finally, only the top Premium version has safety curtains, plus adaptive headlights, an electric front passenger seat, a panoramic roof, a fifth door servo, a blind spot monitoring system and automatic power windows are added.
GAC GS5 crossovers are supplied to us directly from China, they are already available for order from all Russian dealers, although so far there are only eight of them throughout the country. For comparison: a front-wheel drive Haval F7 costs from 1 million 489 thousand rubles, and for Geely Atlas they ask for at least 1 million 255 thousand.
