Five years ago, the Cadillac XT4 became the most compact crossover in the company’s current range – and the American market received it very warmly. For example, last year 22 thousand of these cars were sold in the States: the XT5 model is still more popular (27 thousand cars), but the big XT6 is left behind (20 thousand). And now the “four” is the first in the XT-family to have acquired an exterior and interior in a new corporate style.

Changes in design are indicative: the updated Cadillac XT4 has found a new lighting technology with the vertical sections of the head light shifted down. The horizontal stripes at the top are only decorative. The bumpers, the radiator grille and the hood have been redesigned, the position of the additional lights has changed at the rear (the main blocks are the same). All these updates did not affect the length of the car (4599 mm). There are also new wheels with a diameter of 18 or 20 inches.
Inside, there is a new front fascia inspired by the expensive Escalade and Lyriq models. The Cadillac XT4 says goodbye to traditional architecture and analog gauges, now in front of the driver is a single curved 33-inch display with a resolution of 9K resolution. The central ventilation deflectors are moved lower, while a separate climate control button is retained.
Among the options, there is still a projection display, and an advanced AKG Studio audio system with thirteen speakers has also appeared. The central tunnel is the same, but a new gearbox control joystick has been installed. The trim has been revised, and the differences in decor between the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels have been further enhanced (this version is shown in the pictures).
But the technique has not changed. In America, the Cadillac XT4 is offered only with a two-liter turbo engine (238 hp, 350 Nm) and a nine-speed automatic. The basic drive is front-wheel drive, for a surcharge, an all-wheel drive transmission from GKN with side clutches is provided instead of a rear axle differential. Sport versions rely on adaptive suspension.
Updated Cadillac XT4 for China
In the US market, the updated Cadillac XT4 will appear in the summer. Now pre-reform crossovers here cost from $36,300. The restyled crossover has already been certified in China, where it will look exactly the same and will appear almost simultaneously. But in Europe, the “four” failed, even despite the presence of a version with a turbodiesel: annually, local dealers sell only 400-450 of these cars, so the appearance of a restyled model has not even been announced here yet.
