Crossco makes adjustments to produce alcohol and hand sanitizer

For more than three decades, Crossco has protected Puerto Rico’s roofs and surfaces. In the face of the coronavirus pandemic and With an investment of $ 200,000.00, Crossco adjusted its production line to produce 70% alcohol and hand sanitizier, and thus help combat COVID-19 on the island from its facilities in Río Piedras.

With a total of 7 production lines and its 50 employees, Crossco made the necessary changes to start this production in addition to its traditional sealant, adhesive and acid products produced in Puerto Rico. Now it is in the process of permitting to start producing hand sanitizers, new to the product portfolio and which requires additional federal permits in order to launch it on the market.

“The Crossco brand of ceiling sealants has always been characterized by being a quality product and the production of 70% alcohol and hand sanitizers will be no different. We are experiencing difficult times, but in these times there are also opportunities to reinvent ourselves. We decided to get down to work and the same hands that we cannot use now to greet each other and show affection, we are using them to create products of great need. ” Julio Pentón, vice president and general manager of Max Chemical (Crossco) commented.

In an effort to bring the products to more Puerto Rican hands, through the Salvation Army they will be donating product that will be distributed throughout the island through its 11 operations centers.

“We have been donating 70% alcohol and hand soap to different police headquarters in the areas near our factory, but we feel the need to reinforce our commitment and demonstrate how sealed we are with Puerto Rico. That is why this donation initiative arises through the Salvation Army ”added Pentón.

Max Chemicals is a Puerto Rican company founded in 1972 in Rio Piedras, PR. It is characterized by its ceiling and sealant products, adhesives, acids and industrial and commercial cleaning products.
