Cross-country skiing: Alvar Myhlback had to stop in the middle of the hill

After completing the 70 kilometers, Alvar Myhlback was in a good mood.

– It is perhaps one of the greatest days of my life in terms of sports, with Runar and Emil (the teammates who finished first and second). Sick. It’s so hard to stay focused when I understand that Runar will win, he says to SVT Sport.

The team run, where he and Emil Persson tried to make sure they didn’t pick on the leader, worked well.

– You are up there disturbing and it was just wonderful to notice that “we are not picking anything”.

A detail that disturbed

The 17-year-old was admittedly not completely satisfied with his ninth place.

– It would have been an average day if Runar and Emil had not done what they did, now it was ten out of ten, he says.

Myhlback could very well have achieved an even better result if it weren’t for one small detail.

– I’m a fan there at the end and then I put the ski into the edge so I can stop right in the middle of the slope. I will probably bother about that forever. But that’s what happens and everything else goes painlessly today for me, he says.
