When the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Nashville Predators 3-2 overtime, Sidney Crosby scored his 514th goal and his 1400th NHL scorer point.
Sidney Crosby is only the 22nd player in NHL history to achieve this milestone. In addition, there are only two active players who are ahead of him in the ranking. Joe Thornton currently has 1538 points and Alex Ovechkin has 1403.
What is also remarkable about Crosby is that he only needed 1100 games to reach this mark. Thus he holds at a point average of 1.27.
As befits a superstar, Crosby’s 1,400th point also doubled as the overtime game-winning goal in the game against the Nashville Predators.
