The Crocodiles Hamburg won their home game against the Hannover Scorpions on Tuesday evening 4: 1 (2: 1/1: 0/1: 0).
After the defeat against EG Diez-Limburg Rockets last Sunday, the team of coach Jacek Plachta had to put in a good performance increase in order to be able to survive against the table leaders from Wedemark – and it came! From the first move on, the Hamburgers were wide awake, played simply, purposefully and with a lot of fighting spirit. It didn’t take long for the home side to take the lead. In the majority, André Gerartz sank the disc to make it 1-0 (4th). The hosts stayed on and forced the Scorpions to punish them. When the Mellendorfer Robert Peleikis and a little later Roman Pfennings had to say goodbye to the penalty box, the Hanseatic struck again. Norman Martens scored twice over to make it 2-0 (10th). But the Scorpions caught and fought back through Jan Pietsch (17th).
This was followed by the second third, which the Crocodiles repeatedly gave out of their hands in previous games. But a quick goal win made the Farmsener big. Dominik Lascheit used an outnumbered game to make it 3-1 (22nd minute). The Scorpions put more and more power into the offensive efforts, but the defensive and above all Kai Kristian held up. In the last part of the game, the Hamburg goalkeeper brought Hannover to despair: Kristian saved a total of 50 shots that evening! His counterpart, however, had to reach behind him a fourth time. New signing Harrison Reed was outnumbered by 4: 1 and thus made the preliminary decision (57th).
“We really played our game today. That was a complete team performance over 60 minutes. We kept the game simple from the start. We did the crucial details better than Hanover. We wanted to win more. We have missed that in the last few games, ”said Kai Kristian.
