Croatian Foreign Minister Calls Serbian President a “Russian Satellite” sparking tensions – latest updates on protests in Serbia

Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman called Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic a “Russian satellite.” The reason was a protest near the Croatian embassy in Serbian Belgrade.

According to Politicothe minister stressed that Vučić will have to decide which side he is on – Russia or the EU – “since it is impossible and inconvenient to sit on two chairs at the same time.”

The Foreign Minister called the Serbian President a “Russian satellite” and said that “Russia’s harmful influence in the Western Balkans will not be tolerated.” Vucic himself did not leave the insult unanswered. He accused Glic-Radman of “not only grossly interfering in the internal affairs of Serbia, but also, as always, lying, insulting the Serbian people and threatening the citizens of Serbia.”

“I have never been anyone’s servant, which cannot be said about Glic-Radman,” Vucic emphasized.

The Serbian Foreign Ministry called Glic-Radman’s comments “unacceptable.” They noted that the statements of the Croatian minister “are a further continuation of the escalation of an atmosphere of hatred towards the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people and violate the general policy of promoting peace and stability in the region.”
