Croatian Defense Minister Mario Banozic was involved in a traffic accident in which a person died.
The agency reports this TASS on Saturday, November 11, citing the press service of the Croatian military department. It is noted that the minister got into an accident while driving a personal car.
The driver of the other vehicle was killed in a collision that occurred this morning on State Highway DC-55. There is no information about the condition of Banozic himself.
“At the exit from the town of Vinkovtsi towards Župani, a traffic accident occurred involving the Minister of Defense Mario Banozic in his personal car and the driver of a minibus. The driver of the minibus died as a result of an accident,” the statement said.
The ministry said that the Croatian prosecutor’s office is currently investigating the incident.
Previously EADaily reported that as part of an investigation conducted by the European Prosecutor’s Office, 29 people were detained in Croatia on charges of misappropriation of funds from an EU grant in the amount of two million euros.
