Croatia Captivates Campers at REISE + CAMPING Fair

Croatia made a meaningful splash at the REISE + CAMPING fair in Essen, Germany, held until February 23rd. As the Partner Country, Croatia enjoyed prominent visibility at this major camping industry event, attracting attention from over 80,000 visitors and 800 exhibitors worldwide. The Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) led the delegation, spearheaded by Minister of Tourism and sports Tonči Glavina, CNTB Director Kristjan Staničić, and CNTB Frankfurt Representative Romeo Draghicchio.

The focus on Germany is strategic. “The German market is still our first emitting market from which the largest number of tourists are visiting, and that is why we pay special attention to the promotion of our country in this market, and at the fair in essen, as a Partner Country, we present Croatia as a TOP destination for camping, cycle tourism and outdoor activities,” explained Minister Glavina. He cited research from the European Travel Commission showing 79% of Germans desire international travel, aligning perfectly with Croatia’s natural beauty and outdoor offerings. Croatia’s strong reputation as a leading European camping destination, bolstered by ADAC data ranking it second in campsite quality and first in bathing facilities, further solidified its appeal.

The fair’s official opening featured German TV presenter andrea Griessmann and a speech by Essen’s mayor, Thomas Kufen.Gordan Bakota,the Croatian Ambassador to Germany,also attended.Director Staničić emphasized the quality of Croatian campsites and their expanding amenities:

“Camps are part of our offer of which we are notably proud and that stand out for their quality, as well as investments in additional facilities such as wellness, sports fields, playgrounds, etc.”
