Croatia is also on the “yellow list” of Covid-19 self-isolation, leaving only seven low-risk countries in Europe

Without self-isolation against Covid-19, unvaccinated residents will be able to come to Latvia from only seven European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries, according to information published by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

In the future, non-vaccinated residents will also have to observe 10 days of self-isolation when arriving from Liechtenstein, Bulgaria and Croatia.

Self-isolation of non-vaccinated residents will not have to be observed when arriving in Latvia from Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and the Vatican, which are currently considered low-risk countries.

SPKC data show that the 14-day cumulative rate of Covid-19 morbidity per 100,000 population in Latvia is currently 64.1, but a week ago it was 49.3.

Meanwhile, the EU-EEA average has fallen to 205.1 over the week. A week earlier it was 209.2.

In Estonia, the indicator has increased and reached 254.6 last week (203.1 a week earlier). Lithuania’s indicator has risen to 254.5 (202.5 a week ago).

When entering Latvia from a country where the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population exceeds 75, it is mandatory to observe 10-day self-isolation. The self-isolation time may be reduced if the test is repeated on the seventh day and is negative. The test result must be recorded in the test certificate. Self-isolation may be waived by persons with an interoperable vaccination or disease certificate.

Children under the age of 12 (until 1 September 2021 – also other minors) traveling with adults who are exempt from the requirement of self-isolation may disregard self-isolation. However, in such cases, children do not make close contacts with persons outside their household for 10 days after leaving the high-risk country, do not attend public events, children’s groups, do not use public transport.
