In the run-up to the exhibition match, all Croatian internationals, including Domagoj Vida, had taken a negative corona test on Monday. On Wednesday morning, a new test was carried out, as the Croats play against Sweden in the Nations League on Saturday.
The results of those tests seeped in during the match against Turkey. Vida, who had started the game and also caused a penalty in the 1st half, turned out positive. The defender was changed at half time and immediately quarantined.
The Croatian team travels to Sweden without Vida. The defender can simply stay in home quarantine in Istanbul, because he plays football for the Turkish club Besiktas. The match against Turkey finished 3-3.
