Critics Slam Miss World 2023 Winner Krystyna Pyszková as Racist Backlash Grows

Nothing new actually happened, the blue-eyed blonde won again. These are the most frequent criticisms of critics about the victory of this year’s Miss World Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic. However, much harsher opinions also appeared on social networks.

As soon as the new Miss World Krystyna Pyszková started to be proud of the crown on her head, a wave of criticism from different corners of the world descended on her on social networks. The fans do not like the skin color of this year’s winner.

Disapproval of the choice of a blue-eyed blonde as a beauty queen was expressed, for example, by people from Latin America or Asia, although to a much lesser extent than Africans. It was from this continent that the harshest criticism came. They claim that the organization that organizes the contest robbed a contestant from Botswana of her prize.

They were outraged that the “stereotypical blue-eyed blonde” won again. “She looks like the twin of last year’s winner, but we all know that Botswana should have won the crown,” commented outraged people on Instagram.

“Why did she win? She’s a white blonde with blue eyes. Why are you only picking dozens of European blondes?” African fans of the competition are also angry.

Some authors of objectionable posts call the results unfair, and have even resorted to statements with racist undertones. “It has been confirmed once again that Miss World is a racist pageant with racist fans. You don’t want Africa to win once,” they write, encouraging African countries to boycott this beauty pageant.

However, most people on social networks congratulated Krystyna Pyszková immediately after the victory. “Don’t be offended, Krystyna was simply better. Africa’s turn will come too,” they wrote. “All the participants are beautiful, but there can only be one winner. Let’s not spread hatred and racism,” added others.

The 25-year-old native of Třinec in Frýdecko-Místek is the second Czech woman to win the prestigious title. In 2006, the competition was won by Taťána Kuchařová.

Krystyna Pyszková was also a guest of the show Na gauči. Watch the interview:
