O cruise enters the field this Wednesday, against Sergipe, in search of a spot in the second phase of the Copa do Brasil. The duel will be at Arena Batistão, stage that the Minas Gerais team will visit for the third year in a row, but with the promise of being better than in previous matches.

In the last two editions of Série B, the cruise visited Confiança, which also plays games in Batistão. In 2020, Enderson Moreira complained about the “imperfections” of the lawn, which he said harmed the team’s ball touch style. Last year, at the competition’s debut, Felipe Conceição characterized the field as “heavy”.

The administrator of Arena Batistão says that the problem in recent years was related to the appearance of a pest, which damaged the lawn. To address the situation, the stadium was without games for more than two months last year.

– We had a problem with a pest, with a caterpillar, with a dog, with a lot of trampling, which blows up the lawn. It was able to recover, and today we have a good lawn. The trampling is still loud, but the grass is resisting. Last week we had five games in seven days.

Renovated in 2015, Arena Batistão has the capacity to receive 15,575 fans, but a state decree allows only 75% occupancy of the stadiums, due to Covid-19. The amount corresponds to about 10,900 people.

Tickets for the match are already on sale. O cruise will be entitled to 30% of the total amount, about 3,300 tickets. As this phase of the Copa do Brasil is played in a single game, the income will be divided, being 60% for the classified and 40% for the eliminated.
