UNITED KINGDOM – The star presenter of UK broadcaster ITV’s “Good Morning Britain” declined to hear more. Criticized by one of his colleagues about what some do not hesitate to qualify as “fierce” against Meghan Markle, Piers Morgan left the set of his own show on Tuesday, March 9.
“I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle, you’ve made it clear a few times on this set. I understand that you have a personal relationship with her or rather had since she cut ties with you, she has the right to do it ”, thus expressed in front of him the journalist Alex Beresford. Before adding what will provoke the ire of Piers Morgane: “Has she said anything about you since she cut ties? I don’t believe she did, but yet you continue to criticize her. It is devilish behavior ”.
“Ok, I’m done with that, sorry, I can not do that”, then reacted the presenter leaving the set before returning a few minutes later to ask his colleague for a peaceful discussion in private. A few hours later, the British learned that Piers Morgan was leaving the “Good Morning Britain” show for good.
This decision follows the many complaints, more than 40,000 to the British CSA, after the reactions of Piers Morgan to the interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He had notably explained on set that he did not believe the suicidal thoughts told by the Duchess of Sussex to Oprah Winfrey.
