Criticism of ‘dated and sexist’ image of Marilyn Monroe | entertainment

Many residents do not agree with this, they think that the image no longer fits in this time and wonder why it should be a symbol of Palm Springs.

According to local fashion designer Trina Turk, founder of the Committee to Relocate Marilyn, that’s not true. “I admire Marilyn Monroe as an artist and as a pop culture icon, but I don’t think this image best represents who she was.”

entertainment">People have started the #MeTooMarilyn petition to stop the image from happening. It has now been signed nearly 50,000 times. Residents also went to court. A hearing will be held in July.
