And they also gave a nice warning before the release. There had also been videos from YouTubers on display for weeks that provided an excellent way to estimate performance. In addition, it was easy to play with the release (Experience), even people with a laptop or a less efficient GPU. Just look at the CS2 topic here on the forum. But you do have to adjust three settings. Silly of the developer that those options were not set to off or low by default, I agree. But if that’s the worst…
I also saw a lot of people with a 1080 (8 years old!!) who were pissed that they couldn’t run everything maxed out at 4k with a card, and a lot of people who were/are pissed that CS1 gets more FPS than CS2 (on the same hardware)…. I personally find that strange, and completely unfair and unrealistic to the developer.
There was certainly something to criticize about the launch and the performance at launch, even after this patch. But I find the amount of anger, unrealistic and (in my) unreasonable expectations quite shocking. But hey, that’s me.
