Belarusian service center Pekin Motors shared information about critical problems with the Zeekr X crossover.
It is worth noting that this model was released only a year ago, but has been unofficially sold in Belarus for more than six months. And just recently, the Zeekr brand “officially” began to be supplied to the country.
The popularity of cars of this brand is due not only to the zero rate on electric cars. The Zeekr 001 liftback became very “hype” due to its configuration and dynamics, the Zeekr 009 showed a level of comfort unseen even in tuned Mercedes V-class, and the Zeekr X was created for a mass audience, “stuffing” maximum capabilities into a rather modest price.
In general, Belarusian mechanics have experience working with both the Zeekr X and Zeekr vehicles in general. It is difficult to judge the reliability of this model globally – too little time has passed since the model was introduced, and there are no high mileage rates or service statistics yet, but two specific cases described by the source are cause for concern.
The first case was shown in the video: the engine of a crossover with a mileage of 1,600 km, or more precisely, the gearbox, broke down. The video clearly shows worn-out gear teeth and a large amount of metal debris inside the housing.
As the master explains in the video, the shaft with the main gear has cone-shaped bearings installed on both sides. One of them, located deep inside the electric motor housing, fell apart. From this, everything else went to pieces.
We can assume that this is a design defect or a defective bearing. In addition, the car service specialist notes that even earlier the Zeekr X had a problem with heaters – heaters of the coolant circulating in the motors and battery. In winter, the coolant must be heated to operating temperature for safe operation of electric cars.
The second case relates to typical engineering errors or “childhood sores” – a Zeekr X arrived at the service with only 200 km of mileage and 20 errors on the dashboard. It was not possible to eliminate the ABS sensor errors, but during an inspection with the wheel removed, a broken ABS sensor wire was discovered by the wheel.
The new part will be delivered in 30 days, so the customer agreed to resoldering as a temporary solution to the problem. Some people online condemn handicraft repairs, but there is no escape: you need to operate the car here and now, and high-quality repairs in this situation are not much worse than a new spare part.
