Reported Daily mail, Tuesday (27/12/2022), Antov was dubbed Russia’s ‘highest earning elected politician’. Putin’s war critic in Ukraine has been found dead after falling mysteriously from a hotel in India.
Antov comes from the main pro-Putin United Russia party. He was known to make the trip to celebrate his upcoming 66th birthday.
A male friend of his party died “of a heart attack” last Thursday, and the wealthy politician died two days later.
The tycoon, who is also a deputy in the Vladimir Region Legislative Assembly, was listed as Russia’s top-earning elected official in 2019. Russia’s consul-general in Kolkata, Alexei Idamkin, told TASS that Antov “fell”. from the window of a hotel in Rayagada which is in Odisha state.
“We are following the investigation closely and are receiving all information from the Odisha police,” the diplomat said.
In June, Antov criticized the war and airstrikes in Kiev as Russian “terror” that hurt Ukrainian civilians. He highlighted the Russian missile attack.
“A girl was pulled out from under the rubble, the girl’s father seems to have died. The mother tried to be pulled out with a crane – she got stuck under the slab. To be honest, it’s very difficult to call her otherwise than the terror,” he said.
Then he was quickly pressured and withdrew the comment. Antov also condescendingly apologized.
He made the change and claimed his social media post was an “unfortunate misunderstanding” and a “technical error.”
He insisted that he “always defended the president” and “sincerely” supported the goals of Putin’s military operation, but local journalists strongly denied this. According to Indian media reports, the Russian butcher “jumped” from the roof of the hotel and was found in a pool of blood.
