Critic Mohamed Tarek has scheduled short films at the Dublin Film Festival

The Dublin International Film Festival has announced its short film program for the upcoming edition, which will run from 23 February to 4 March.

The Official Short Film Competition features critic and programmer Mohamed Tariq, in collaboration with Irish director and programmer Aisha Balaghi, and comprises 25 films, selected from 750 short films presented at the festival, and includes a list of films. Items from countries such as Egypt, Lebanon, China, Ghana, Lebanon and Norway. Tunisia, Colombia and Tunisia.

Muhammad Tariq and Aisha Bolji said, “Through books, documentaries, animations and experimental films, we see a wide range of activities that delve into the telling of different stories, between folktales and legends, and between modern histories and histories, including films. Exploring themes like youth, loneliness, loss, family and acceptance. Especially keeping in mind the film styles and genres of Comedy, Horror, Drama and Fantasy.

“Short films have always been an important part of the festival, both as a search for future talent and as a unique and powerful art form,” said Grania Humphreys, festival director.

Mohamed Tarek is an Egyptian film critic and programmer and a member of the Egyptian Film Critics Association. He lives between Cairo and Dublin and works as a programmer of short films at the Dublin International Film Festival. In addition, he works as director of the Cinema for Development project at the Scientific and Cultural Renaissance Association (Cairo Jesuit) and as an elected member of the Market Market of the Durban Film Festival in South Africa, as well as a full-time member. He is a consultant and collaborator of institutions and festivals, including the Goethe-Institut and the Medfest Film Festival.
