This Monday, Cristina Pérez walked the blue carpet to attend the 52nd Martín Fierro 2024 ceremony, presented by APTRA at the Hilton Hotel in Buenos Aires. Nominated in the category of Best female journalistic work on television, Pérez arrived in a design inspired by the iconic Audrey Hepburn.
Hours earlier, from room 712 where she was getting ready, the journalist was surprised by her partner, Luis Petri —current Minister of Defense of the Nation— with a bouquet of red roses. In that context, Pérez spoke with Teleshow, and described the outfit she chose to feel elegant and comfortable on this special night. “Gustavo Cadile sent me the dress from the United States,” she began, enthusiastically telling about the sophisticated suit she is wearing.

“Gus is a great designer who has dressed well-known figures in the entertainment industry, such as Catherine Zeta Jones, Eva Longoria, Geena Davis, Vanessa Williams, Gloria Estefan, Kelly Preston and Elizabeth Hurley. I really like him because he uses modern and, at the same time, groundbreaking details. So the combination is very couture, but also pop,” said the host who, in 2024, stepped away from hosting Telefe Noticias after her partner announced that he was accompanying Patricia Bullrich on the presidential ticket during the last presidential elections. Despite the distance, for her the channel “is still her home” and on this occasion she was nominated for her work with Rodolfo Barili.
To complement her look, Cristina chose a few accessories, including a black clutch, designed exclusively for this dress by Peter Kent; jewellery by Jean-Pierre and sandals by Ricky Sarkany. She completed the look with styling by Leo Cosenza and make-up by Luli de la Vega.

Designer Gustavo Cadile joined Teleshow in the conversation and gave details about the creation he made especially for Cristina Pérez for Monday’s ceremony. “This dress is very special to me. I deeply admire Cris: for me she is like an Audrey Hupburn,” he said to the camera, while showing the design mounted on a mannequin. “I see it as sophisticated, refined, and it is everything Cris is: a mix of both things.”
“I like it a lot because it uses modern and, at the same time, groundbreaking details. So the combination is very couture, but also pop,” said Cris. “The black and ivory color is sophisticated and elegant, like Cris,” said designer Gustavo Cadile.
Cadile later explained about the color combination. “I found the mix of black and ivory super original, very Audrey, outstanding and different. The essential part of this dress is the fabric. It is very special to me, because it has a cording that is hand-embroidered in France, it is all detailed and the base is an original French lace. This metallic cording is handmade, stitch by stitch. The inspiration for this fabric, in this metallic cording, is the shape of the ocean’s corals. So, this coral that is in the ocean is called ‘The Venus Sea Fun’ and Cris wrote the book with the Venus (Editor’s note: in her book Tiempo de Renacer, the writer delves into the enigmas of Simonetta Vespucio, the woman who inspired Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus’). For me it is like everything in life comes together, it is like a circle of beautiful things. All this together makes up the body of the dress and highlights the figure of the woman. That is what attracted me most to this fabric,” she concluded.

The communicator took the opportunity to talk about her current professional life. “I am starting to film a new program that I will have on the channel (Telefe) and that will be released in mid-October. It is called Camino a Casa and it is a Spanish format, which transcends the interview genre. It is an evocative reality show with cinematographic production. I love the format because it is a search for authentic moments, and that has a human and emotional value of taking people to their purest moment: that of childhood. It is beautiful, it makes me very excited,” she described, happy.
“I am also continuing with my program on Radio Rivadavia, Cristina sin vueltas, which is in its third year and which earned me the Martin Fierro Award for Best Female Host. In addition, I am already writing my fifth novel, after the success of Tiempo de Renacer (Penguin), which was sold throughout Latin America,” Cristina concluded, regarding the good personal and professional moment she is experiencing.
