There are several union leaders who have been closely accompanying Cristina Kirchner for some time. However, now and with her sights set on the national leadership of the Justicialist Party, the former president talks and contacts like-minded but not unconditional leaders. This is the case of the truck driver and CGT triumvir, Pablo Moyano, whom CFK met this Monday at the Instituto Patria. The meeting, as it turned out, was pleasant and, although the truck driver did not later make a statement in favor of the former president, what they say around the union member is that this will not be the only meeting, that there will be another one and very soon.
Moyano arrived at the meeting accompanied by his son Nicolás and union leaders Graciela Aleña (road workers) and Pablo Flores from AFIP. The Buenos Aires senator for UxP, Mariano Recalde, was waiting for him there, who – they claim – managed the meeting.
Cristina and Moyano have known each other for a long time. In fact, the assistant secretary of the truckers participated in the first public event that CFK held after suffering the assassination attempt. It was November 4, 2022 in Pilar. That day the former president participated in a national meeting organized by the Metal Workers Union, led by a man close to the former president, Abel Furlán. On that occasion Cristina Kirchner said “I am going to do what I have to do to ensure that our people, our society can organize themselves into a country project that will once again recover the enthusiasm, strength and joy of our people.”
Moyano’s meeting with CFK marks a difference with the other two triumvirs of the labor union. Both Héctor Daer and Carlos Acuña were much closer to Alberto Fernández than to the then vice president. Now, we will have to see how this approach falls within the triumvirate. For now, the unions that respond to Daer-Acuña are critical of the future of the PJ and often affirm that in these times of libertarian government they feel “orphaned of political leadership.”
In the union gossip mills, especially close to Moyano, they talk about a new meeting between the triumvir and the former president. At the Patria Institute, on the contrary, they preferred not to make statements about the meeting or a future meeting.
government program
After the meeting with Moyano, Cristina Kirchner published a tweet on “Listen carefully to what he wants for Argentina,” says CFK: “that there is no lack of bread or work. May there be no lack of peace or unity. Let there be no lack of study for young people or school for children. Bread, work, peace, union and education… Almost, almost a government program,” wrote the former president.
Without a doubt, the post became a new confirmation of Cristina Kirchner’s decision to compete for the presidency of Peronism. In the video, Aurora holds a photo of CFK in her hands while saying: “Cristina, it is my wish, with all my soul, that you will once again make Peronism and Justicialism flourish. May you be the desire for peace, for work, for unity and understanding. You are our torch, we always carry you forward in our hearts to achieve all our dreams.” Then he tells him: “We want there to be no lack of bread on the table, no lack of work for men, no lack of study for youth, no lack of school for children, no lack of bread.”
Peronist month
Recalde, who organized Pablo Moyano’s meeting with CFK, participated yesterday in the launch of the “Peronist Month” at the party headquarters. There he said that it is necessary to work for “the renewal of authorities of the Justicialist Party and it is a great opportunity.” What’s more, he added that “from this place I want to tell you that I celebrate and I am very happy that Cristina Kirchner has taken the lead in rebuilding Peronism, in calling together each and every one of the Peronists who want a fair, free Argentina.” and sovereign.”
“We want a Peronism that defends public health, that defends education, that puts itself at the forefront of social demands and that makes the Homeland great and the people happy. We are sure that it is on the side of Peronism,” Recalde concluded at the event. Along with him were the first vice president of the Party, “Kelly” Olmos; the 2nd vice president, Jorge Meneses; the 3rd vice president, Silvia Gottero; the 4th vice president, Juan Manuel Abal Medina and the secretary of culture of the PJ CABA, Carlos Benítez.
