Cristiano Ronaldo’s State-of-the-Art Villa Sparks Controversy with Neighbors: What You Need to Know

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is building a state-of-the-art villa. His future neighbors are not very enthusiastic.

WHAT HAPPENED? Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be having trouble with his neighbors over his luxury villa near Lisbon. At least that’s what a report in the magazine says Look out. In it, people who live next door to the Al-Nassr star striker’s new home complain.

WHAT WAS SAID? According to the report, a local resident complained: “They’ve been building this house for three years. It’s so big that it looks like a hospital. My street has been closed for months because of this and my garden is full of dust. And all that just because so that Pharaoh Ronaldo can build his pyramid.”

WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? Ronaldo has been building his villa in Quinta da Marinha west of the Portuguese capital for some time. Completion is not expected for at least twelve months. According to media reports, a budget of around 11.5 million euros was initially budgeted for the construction of the imposing house. In the meantime, however, the costs are said to have exploded and increased to 32.5 million euros.

The 38-year-old Ronaldo is likely to retire at the Villa after his playing career. Among other things, the house will feature a glass swimming pool with an underground footpath.

CR7 already owns other spectacular properties. He owns a luxury villa in Turin, where he once spent three years chasing goals for Juventus. Ronaldo owns a 4,000 square meter palace in the posh ‘La Finca’ district near Madrid, and he owns a seven-story apartment building in Madeira.
