Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils during this summer’s transfer window. While his next move isn’t clear to everyone yet, the goal machine’s future could be clearer thanks to a clue left behind by one of his sons.
After United’s poor season, the striker and his representatives have informed the club of their intention to leave. However, with his future up for debate, Ronaldo could be returning to Real Madrid as fans spotted his son Mateo wearing a Los Blancos shirt.

Ronaldo was Manchester United’s top scorer last season despite his poor campaign. The Portuguese superstar found the back of the net 24 times and has proven to be a deadly striker, despite his age.

However, a return to Madrid might not be likely. With the emergence of Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior in top goalscoring form, it is possible that the Whites do not want to bet on the striker again. For now, Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United remains up in the air.
Where should Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo go now?
Aside from the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo has won all the trophies he has been eligible for. However, it seems that joining a club capable of winning trophies could be a bit of a problem for the 37-year-old.
A return to Real Madrid will be highly unlikely as Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema are securing the goals needed to win their trophies. The fiscal cost of signing the legendary striker may also seem like an unnecessary expense on the part of the white team.
Manchester City, who became interested in the Portuguese star last summer, already has a young Erling Haaland on their cards. Although they have sold the likes of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, Ronaldo’s position in the center of attack is sure to be threatened by Haaland.

Liverpool already has Darwin Núñez, Barcelona has Robert Lewandowski and Atlético de Madrid cannot pay Ronaldo’s salary. Bayern Munich, now missing a star goalscorer, have openly stated that transferring Ronaldo is not in their plans for the summer.
CR7 could have to stay at Manchester United, where he still has a contract for one more year. It could mean playing in the Europa League, but it would certainly be better than him constantly struggling to find a place at a big club.
