Cristiano Ronaldo’s Most Expensive Mansion in Portugal Creates Controversy and Delays

In October 2022, the European press reported that Cristiano Ronaldo had bought the most expensive mansion in Portugal. At that time, it was speculated that the Portuguese was planning to return to Sporting Lisbon, but in reality the investment points to the years in which the footballer is already retired. However, the works have brought inconveniences: the budget increased, the time was extended and the neighbors are no longer happy to share the neighborhood with him.

The OK Diario site was able to contact some families who live in the Quinta da Marinha area, a neighborhood in the Cascais region, belonging to the Portuguese Riviera, and they were outraged by the work that should finish next month, but will last until mid-2024. “The house has at least one more year of work left. We are tired. We have been working for 3 years. The house is so big that it looks like a hospital. My street has been closed for months, my garden full of dust. Cristiano and his partner, the Argentine Georgina Rodríguez, acquired this 2,720-square-meter mansion divided into three floors with an outdoor space of another 544 square meters that includes several gardens, an outdoor and an indoor pool, gym, tennis court, and garage for more than 20 cars, among other amenities. Such a home seems perfect for the footballer’s five children.

For this reason, it acquired the property under construction in exchange for USD 11 million, but, according to the portal, the costs of the work have increased above what was budgeted and the same as the time of the works. It should be remembered that completion was scheduled for this year, but it will last until 2024, and since its final value is estimated at USD 21 million, it is the most expensive in the country.

The strong investment made by the footballer, who also has properties in Turin, Lisbon and Madrid, among other cities, is related to his near retirement. It is that the Portuguese is two years away from turning 40, the age at which he anticipated that he would like to retire and, obviously, he has chosen his native country to rest after hanging up his boots.

This is how the mansion will look when finished:
