Cristiano Ronaldo’s Injury Forces Al-Nassr to Cancel Test Matches in China

After the injury of its superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi Arabian football club Al-Nassr has canceled its planned test matches in China on January 24th and 28th. The two games would have to be postponed indefinitely for reasons beyond the club’s control, the club said in a statement on Tuesday. According to media reports, Ronaldo (38) is said to be struggling with muscular problems at the training camp in Shenzhen, China.

“We came here to Shenzhen with great respect for Chinese football fans and especially for Ronaldo’s fans,” said Al-Nassr. The club is therefore ready to complete the training camp as planned in the city, “which gave us a warm welcome and shows us and our captain so much love.”

How seriously Ronaldo is injured is still unclear. His participation in the planned test match on February 1st in Riyadh against US club Inter Miami with Ronaldo’s long-term rival Lionel Messi also seems to be open. (dpa/loan)
