Cristiano Ronaldo’s favorite tapas restaurant in Mallorca: Bar Andaluz

What is important on vacation? Relaxation, joy, sun and good food – some might say. This of course also applies to those who spend their holidays Majorca want to spend. While several great restaurants await holidaymakers in Palma or Port d’Andratx, it is a little more difficult to find a suitable restaurant on the so-called Ballermann. Although there is a sausage stand or a kebab shop on every corner, it is not so easy to find a cozy restaurant with good food and moderate prices.

Nevertheless, we went looking and found even what we were looking for. And it became, how could it be otherwise in Spain – a tapas restaurant. A little hidden, near Balneario 1, is the “Bar Andaluz”. From the outside there is no indication that world stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo or Spain goalkeeper legend Iker Casillas have dined here. Only the queue that waits almost all day for a table in front of the small restaurant suggests that something special awaits the guest behind the green and white striped screen.

And the rush, it was reasonable. On a Tuesday evening you can barely get two seats at the bar. The small restaurant is full, all the tables are taken. Nevertheless, it is very comfortable. Ronaldo has already eaten here, the inn says. And it seems the soccer megastar has a taste. The tapas are truly to die for. Whether it’s sea polyp on onions, marinated meat skewers or spicy, grilled potatoes. Everything is really fresh and delicious. In the display behind the counter you can even see the mussels and seafood waiting to be ready.

And this at a reasonable price. Some tapas are available for just 1.45 euros. Other, larger portions can cost between ten and twelve euros. However, if you compare that a kebab on the Playa costs eight euros, the food is almost free. As a welcome home, even schnapps and a piece of the best almond cake our author has ever had is a treat. And even if you don’t necessarily agree with CR7’s club choice, you can’t say anything against his taste in restaurants.
