Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in planning to build a luxury hotel in Manchester for around SEK 350 million.

Three years later, it can be stated that things are going well.

The construction has stopped completely and looks like a ruin, writes The Sun.

Cristiano Ronaldo received planning permission three years ago to build an exclusive hotel in the heart of Manchester. The idea was that the hotel would open its doors this year, which would generate over 900 jobs and strengthen the city’s economy.

That has not been the case.

The building permit expired last week and no work has begun on the building. Pictures obtained by The Sun show a dilapidated building with holes in the roof and paint peeling from the walls.

Now it remains to be seen if anything will come of it all.

A spokesperson for the Pestana hotel group, which is a partner with Cristiano Ronaldo, tells the newspaper that the project has been put on hold at the moment and that they are trying to get a new building permit.

In disrepair for several years

The property has been in disrepair for years but when Ronaldo’s team got the green light, hopes were raised that something would eventually come of it. However, Manchester City Council have been frustrated that there has been no indication of when construction could start since Ronaldo’s team received planning permission.

The plan was to build a four-star hotel on eleven floors with 151 rooms, a roof terrace and two bars.
