Living legend of his sport, Cristiano Ronaldo has other passions than football. This is what the main interested party confided in a documentary currently broadcast by the DAZN platform. The five-time Golden Ball took the opportunity to declare his love for combat sports.
“Playing football is my passion, but I prefer to watch other sports on television. Between a football match or watching a boxing match or the UFC, I choose the second option,” Cristiano Ronaldo said in a series of documentary “Parallel Worlds”, where he was invited to speak in the company of Gennady Golovkin, Kazakh boxer unbeaten for 15 years in his discipline in the middleweight.
“I don’t think I could have been a boxer”
Passionate about the noble art, Cristiano Ronaldo counts several professional fighters among his friends. “I don’t think I could have been a boxer, it’s hard. You have to be born for that, admitted the current Juventus striker. I think I was born to be a professional footballer, I thought I had this donation from the start, and I was like, “I will take this opportunity.”
Fan of combat sports, Cristiano Ronaldo is also an amateur practitioner. “When I was at Manchester United a coach boxed with me,” said CR7. “I think playing this sport is good for football because it sharpens your senses and you learn to move.” Perhaps one of the secrets of Cristiano Ronaldo’s longevity, still at his best for almost 36 years.
