Cristiano Ronaldo takes a harsh swipe at legend Pele; Brazilians won’t appreciate it

Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo made a comment about Pele on his YouTube channel that may not please many Brazilians.

The Al Nassr captain is close to reaching the 900 career goals mark and he does not refuse to dream of scoring up to 1000 goals.

“I want to reach 900 goals first, then 1000. But with one difference: all my goals are filmed, I have proof”said Cristiano Ronaldo.

This last sentence from the Portuguese surely refers to the king Pelé who declared on several occasions to have scored 1000 goals during his career.

“I respect them all, but I have proof.”he adds about Pelé and Romario, the two Brazilian legends who claim to have scored 1000 goals.

When these two players were at the top of their game, football was not as publicized as it is today.

Therefore, they did not have the chance to have their statistics calculated for each match, as is the case nowadays.

So they have struggled to prove that they have actually scored this incredible number of goals during their career. Which means that Cristiano Ronaldo is waving the proof card.

“If you want more goals, I can bring the ones scored in training too, it’s not a problem”added the former Man Utd player in his intervention on his YouTube channel before indicating at the end that he is still hungry for goals.

“I always want to score goals. Whether it’s against France or against Al-Ettifaq, it doesn’t change anything for me.

After a game I won, it’s always better. But if I score more, I’ll be a little happier. And after a defeat, I learned that life goes on.”
