Cristiano Ronaldo Suspended by Saudi Football Federation Disciplinary Committee – Violation of Article 57-1 – Al-Nasr Club Captain Suspended for One Match

The Disciplinary Committee of the Saudi Football Federation decided to suspend Al-Nasr Club captain Cristiano Ronaldo for one match, for violating Article 57-1 of the Disciplinary and Ethics Regulations.

The committee said in its statement: “Al-Nasr player Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for one match in all official matches in which he is entitled to participate.”

She continued: “Forcing Al-Nasr club player Cristiano Ronaldo to pay a fine of (10,000) ten thousand riyals to the account of the Saudi Football Federation,” and obliging him to “pay an amount of (20,000) twenty thousand riyals to Al-Shabab Club, representing the costs of the complaint filing fees.”

The Disciplinary Committee confirmed that the decision “is not subject to appeal in accordance with Article (144) of the Discipline and Ethics Regulations.”

With this decision, Ronaldo will miss Al-Nasr’s next match against Al-Hazm tomorrow, Thursday, in the 22nd round of the Roshen League.

Al-Shabab Club filed a complaint against Ronaldo, regarding his incitement to the club’s fans, in the match that was held between the two teams on February 2024, within the Saudi Roshan League competition for the 2023-2024 sports season.

The disciplinary statement added: “After Al-Shabab Club completed the formal procedures, the committee addressed Al-Nasr Club player Cristiano Ronaldo to respond to what was stated in the complaint submitted by Al-Shabab Club, and addressed the official carrier to provide the committee with official footage of the incident in question.”
