Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the identity of his idol in the world of football.
Ronaldo is known to be rare in talking about the stars he influenced in his football career, unlike other footballing legends of his generation like Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I don’t like comparisons, but I like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho (the Brazilians). They left a great legacy and an incredible story,” Ronaldo told ESPN.
He said: “But I can say that I won more individual awards, but they won the World Cup (in 2002 in South Korea and Japan).”
Ronaldo has won Best Player of the Year five times and the Ballon d’Or, while the Brazilian phenom has won Best Player of the Year three times and the Ballon d’Or twice.
Ronaldinho, meanwhile, has won the best player of the year award twice and the Ballon d’Or once.
