First the rumors of change, then the bandage scandal – Cristiano Ronaldo does not get out of the headlines. For a cult player from Juventus Turin, the breakout of the superstar was more than inappropriate.

Alessandro Del Piero takes on Cristiano Ronaldo after he threw away the captain’s armband for the Portuguese national team. The club legend of Juventus Turin can by no means approve of his behavior.
“This is an overreaction. He shouldn’t act like that, not that way,” complained Del Piero at ESPN. “It’s okay to be angry and it’s okay to argue with the referee. But throwing the armband and going on is too much for someone who is the team captain and represents an iconic figure like him.”

Short flashback: Ronaldo was wrongly denied the alleged winning goal in the World Cup qualifier against Serbia (2-2). The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is not used in the qualifying games. Ronaldo pounded in the direction of the referee and threw his captain’s armband on the floor.
“I also understand the moment, the importance of the game and also the personal ambition he puts into everything he does,” says Del Piero on the subject. There were also critical words at the Portuguese Association, but the incident has no effect on Ronaldo’s captaincy.
