Cristiano Ronaldo price revealed as Todd Boehly watches Man United transfer raid for Chelsea

Todd Boehly has been told how much Chelsea might have to fork out to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United this summer. The American billionaire met with the 37-year-old striker’s agent, Jorge Mendes, to discuss a possible hiring of the Portuguese star, according to the athletic.

Ronaldo, who sees his contract at Old Trafford expire in just 12 months, is said to be increasingly unhappy at the lack of transfer business United have conducted, with no arrivals so far. The report adds that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has already been offered to Bayern Munich, although the German giants have resisted the proposal.

With Boehly meeting Mendes in Portugal last week, Ronaldo’s future is believed to have been one of several topics discussed amid an uncertain future at United. The American-led consortium, which has agreed a £4.25bn deal to buy the west London club, is expected to “push for A-list signings” to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, according to the online mail.

Whether Chelsea make a move for the talisman or not remains to be seen, Ronaldo certainly constitutes an “a-list” signing. But, West Londoners could be forced to put up a hefty fee.

According to the daily mailRonaldo is currently said to earn £385,000 a week at United, which works out to around £20m a year. The evergreen striker is also currently valued at £17.2m for CIES Football Observatory.

So overall, Chelsea could end up paying £37.2m for Ronaldo’s services, should he sign a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge this summer. While his age may be a handicap, the striker made 30 appearances for United in the Premier League last season, contributing directly to 21 goals.

His impressive displays guided the Red Devils through patches unluckily, though not enough to secure Champions League qualification. Despite the rumours, Ronaldo is expected to return for pre-season training with United next month and Erik ten Hag is keen to work with the striker.

Speaking after his last game in charge of Ajax last month, Ten Hag said: “Starting tomorrow (Monday), my focus will be on United and of course I will delve into things there.”

“What I have to say about that is that the detailed analysis has yet to start, I still have to work with the team, but let me make it clear that there are a lot of good players at United. We have to make them work.” as a team, but Ronaldo is definitely a giant”.

In another interview with De Telegraaf, Ten Hag added: “Ronaldo is a giant, because of what he has already shown and I think he is still very ambitious. Of course I would like to keep it. He has been very important for Manchester United this year.” and he can produce great stats.”
