FC Bayern, News: Cristiano Ronaldo is counting on FCB in the Champions League
Cristiano Ronaldo (38, Al-Nassr) named his candidates for the Champions League title this season on the sidelines of the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. This includes FC Bayern.
When asked about the hottest contenders for winning the pot, Ronaldo explained: “It’s always the same clubs: Bayern, Manchester City, Real Madrid.”
The former Manchester United goalscorer sees last year’s winners ManCity a little ahead of FCB and his former club Real: “I think Manchester City has a good chance of winning the title again this season. I hope not of course, but I think there’s a great chance.”
He continued to rave about the Citizens: “To be honest: I enjoy watching them play. They have a very good team, a very good coach.” In addition, several players are at the peak of their abilities at the moment, said Ronaldo.
The three clubs mentioned by Ronaldo all marched confidently through the group phase and had solvable tasks for the upcoming round of 16. Bayern face Lazio, while City face FC Copenhagen. Real Madrid are now facing RB Leipzig.
Ronaldo’s favorite trio will play the first leg away on February 13th and 14th. The second legs for Bayern, City and Real will take place on March 5th and 6th.
