Cristiano Ronaldo photo with son “torn” asks the Internet: Are six packs genetic?

Cristiano Ronaldo posted a photo of himself and his son. Both abdominal muscles could be seen. The post has many followers who comment on his son’s future and recovery methods.

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers of all time, Manchester United’s prodigal son and legendary Ab Man, shared a photo of himself and his son on Instagram, both with abs on display.

He captioned the photo, “Recovery time with my boy.” In the background was a door with a porthole in it. This is where the recovery session (or perhaps classic CR7 workout of terrifying proportions) probably took place.

TIED TOGETHER: The brutal reality of Cristiano Ronaldo’s attempt to train as a skinny man

Many Cristiano Ronaldo supporters shared how impressed they were with the couple. “Present and future,” wrote one. “Goat,” said another.

This isn’t the first time Ronaldo has posted photos of his Eskimo-like recovery techniques. Also known as whole-body cryotherapy, this recovery method can CNET, facilitate “faster exercise recovery times, reduced inflammation, pain relief, muscle healing, weight loss, and increased flexibility.”

Obviously six pack abs aren’t genetic, but that didn’t stop the good people on the internet from worrying about it. And while six-pack abs aren’t passed down in your genetic code, your parents do have a powerful impact on your attitude toward health and fitness.

A study in Journal of Pediatrics found that “when both parents were active, children were 5.8 times more likely to be active (95% confidence interval = 1.9, 17.4) than children of two inactive parents.”

The study also found that “Possible mechanisms for the relationship between parent and child activity levels include parent role models, sharing of activities by family members, active parents’ enhancement and support of their child’s participation in physical activity, and genetic factors.” include transferred factors that predispose the child to increased levels of physical activity.”

Apparently you can blame your dad for your beer belly, then…

TIED TOGETHER: Has Cristiano Ronaldo just revealed the secret to his insane longevity?
