The Red Devils will face Italy in the quarter-finals of the European Championship next Friday. So Romelu Lukaku and not Cristiano Ronaldo. Not exactly the Azzurri’s preference.

It remains to be seen whether Giorgio Chiellini will appear at the kick-off with the Italians. The tough defender was injured in the first group match against Turkey and was replaced by Francesco Acerbi in the 1/8th final against Austria.
The Lazio player, who survived testicular cancer a few years ago, would have preferred to play against the Portuguese superstar rather than ‘Big Rom’.
“I think Lukaku is currently harder to defend than Ronaldo,” the defender said when asked after the win against Austria. “They are both complete players, but Lukaku is harder to guard. Because he is stronger. He does things more on strength and is a real striker. Ronaldo is also a good attacker, but easier to defend than Lukaku.”
