Cristiano Ronaldo Misses Mega Chance in AFC Champions League Quarterfinals – Al-Nassr vs Al-Ain: Match Recap

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has in the quarterfinals with Al-Nassr missed a mega chance to score a goal in the AFC Champions League on Monday evening.

The goalkeeper of opponent Al-Ain blocked a shot right at the feet of the lurking Ronaldo.

The 39-year-old Portuguese only had to push in from three meters, but his attempt went just wide of the post. CR7 then reacted angrily to his failure in front of goal.

Meanwhile, Al-Nassr gave Al-Ain a big fight after a 0-1 first leg defeat.

Ronaldo and Co. turned a 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 and thus forced extra time. Al-Ain initially equalized before Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot to make it 4-3 shortly before the end.

The game therefore went to penalties, which Al-Ain ultimately won and knocked Al-Nassr out of the competition.

For Ronaldo, the chance of a title is already definitely gone. In the league, winning the championship is also very unlikely given that they are now twelve points behind league leaders Al-Hilal.

Al-Nassr can only realistically hope for silverware in the King’s Cup, where they are in the semi-finals.

Ronaldo has made 32 appearances for Al-Nassr across all competitions so far this season.

The multiple world footballer scored 29 goals and eleven assists.
