Cristiano Ronaldo Makes History with Three Awards at Globe Soccer Awards Gala

Cristiano Ronaldo once again demonstrated why he is one of the most important players in the world of football and once again wrote history at almost 40 years of age.

The “Bicho” won three awards at the Globe Soccer Awards gala and overshadowed other figures. Cristiano was distinguished as the Top Scorer, with the Maradona Award; the Fans’ Favorite Footballer and the Best Player in the Middle East.

It should be noted that in the Dubai Globe Soccer, organized since 2011 by the Dubai Sports Council, Erling Haaland was named the best soccer player in the world and Cristiano only had praise for the Norwegian net-breaker from Manchester City.

“I was the top scorer this season, imagine beating young animals like Erling Haaland… I’m proud. And soon I will be 39 years old! I like it when people doubt me and I become successful again. Criticism does not affect me,” said the Portuguese star at the Atlantis Hotel in The Palm, where he was also a finalist in the award that Haaland won and which he won six times: 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Cristiano, who will turn 39 next February, was the top scorer in 2023 globally, scoring 54 goals (44 with Al-Nassr and 10 with the Portuguese National Team). He left Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane in second place (both with 52) and Erling Haaland in third (with 50).

The Portuguese, who will have an international friendly against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and will also play against Al-Hilal, leader of the Arab league, playing 59 games and 15 assists on goal throughout 2023.
