Jakarta –
More than 100 goals have been scored Cristiano Ronaldo on the international stage with the national team, is a little further from the goal record Ali Daei.
Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored his 101st goal in 165 appearances for Portugal. This was done by the 35-year-old footballer when he bought two winning goals with a score of 2-0 over Sweden 2-0 in the continued UEFA Nations League A Group 3.
Ronaldo’s two goals at Sweden’s Friends Arena, Wednesday (9/9/2020) early morning WIB yesterday, were printed in his own distinctive style. The first was with a curling free-kick and the second from a hard, accurate shot.
The player from Juventus, who has appeared in the Portugal national team since 2003, became the first European footballer to break 100 international goals. Ronaldo has 0.61 goals per match so far in the national team.
From the total number of goals, Cristiano Ronaldo only lost to Iranian player Ali Daei. Daei is currently listed as the player with the highest number of goals on the international stage.
Ali Daei scored 109 goals in his 149 appearances for the Iranian national team in the 1993-2006 period. He has a percentage of 0.73 goals per game.
In other words, Ronaldo only needs eight more goals to match Ali Daei’s record. If you can add one more, he will set a new record.
Ryan Giggs, who was Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate at Manchester United and also had a long playing career in football, spoke up.
“I think Cristiano will break that record,” Giggs was quoted as saying by PA talkSPORT.
“Of course to do that (in the national team) he (also) has to be in the right club. I used to play until 40 years playing at a top club and I can also see him playing until he is 40 years old.”
“He continues to maintain his body condition. He eats right, rest well, and is full of commitment to his game. And he is also the best professional figure I’ve played with,” said Ryan Giggs of work ethic. Cristiano Ronaldo.
