In the The Paris 2024 Olympic Games have seen unique moments that many will remember. On social media, several athletes have decided to share their daily life at these games, and some peculiarities have gone viral, such as the selfie between the delegations of China, South Korea and North Korea.
In addition, the celebrations of several competitors, imitating Cristiano Ronaldo, have caught the attention of the public. The famous Portuguese ‘Siiuu’ has been a protagonist in some disciplinesremembering the goals and the characteristic celebration of ‘CR7’.
This time it was the turn of Daniel Pintado, Ecuadorian race walker who won gold in the 20 km and thus won the first medal for his country’s delegation at the current Olympics. As he crossed the finish line, Pintado emulated Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic half-turn jump, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
But this is not the first time that the Cuenca native has done so. At the 2023 World Cup in Budapest, after winning the silver medal, he also celebrated like the Portuguese footballercausing a sensation among the audience and the cameras.
Another athlete went viral for replicating the original celebration. Egyptian fencer Mohamed Elsayed, after winning bronze in the individual epee event, could not contain his emotion and, like others have done, celebrated like Cristiano Ronaldo.
Regarding Daniel Pintado, he demonstrated his great physical resistance and an effective rhythm strategy.allowing him to reach the finish line with a time of 1:18:55, beating the Brazilian Caio Bonfim (1:19:09) and the Spaniard Álvaro Martín who completed the podium (1:19:11), in one of the most demanding tests in Olympic athletics.
