Football fans have reacted to the wonder goal scored by Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo, with some crowning him the KING of football.

Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo and his Argentinian counterpart Lionel Messi have dominated football conversations for more than two decades, particularly when it comes to who is the greatest of all time (GOAT).

Messi fans believe the debate ended when the Argentine magician led his country to win the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but Ronaldo fans remain in disagreement. They think the former Real Madrid player is the best player.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored two brilliant goals for Saudi side Al Nassr in a match against Al Akhdoud.

The former Juventus star found the back of the net twice in three minutes, the second being a wonder goal – lobbing the goalkeeper from over 40 yards.

Ronaldo overtakes Messi on goal record

Since swapping Manchester United for Al Nassr, Ronaldo has continued to break more and more goalscoring records.

Al Nassr’s latest goal takes the Portuguese captain to 61 goals in 2023: 48 goals and 13 assists.

Additionally, Cristiano Ronaldo (517 goals) surpassed the record for the most goals in the history of first division football, previously held by Ferenc Puskas and Josef Bican (515 goals each).

With Ronaldo’s record, his biggest rival, Lionel Messi, would need to score 20 goals to catch up with the Portuguese star.

After setting a new goalscoring record, coupled with the extraordinary goal against Al Akhdoud, some fans crowned Ronaldo the KING of football, in reaction to a video published on Marca’s Facebook page.
