Cristiano Ronaldo Doesn’t Like Coca-Cola because of Ryan Giggs?

Question talk Coke bring up another anecdote about Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star was once scolded by Ryan Giggs because of soft drinks.

Ronaldo is being talked about because of his actions while attending a press conference ahead of the Hungary vs Portugal match at Euro 2020, Monday (14/6/2021). He was caught on camera shifting two Coca-Cola bottles in front of him.

Not only that, Ronaldo then raised a bottle of water while saying ‘agua’, which in Portuguese means ‘water’. The 36-year-old seems to suggest that drinking water is better than soda.

Ronaldo is known as a player who really takes care of his body condition and has a healthy lifestyle. So, soda is very likely not to be touched.

However, soft drinks seem to have been consumed Cristiano Ronaldo when I was young. When at Manchester United, he was scolded by Ryan Giggs because of the soft drink.

The story is told by former Norwegian footballer, Jan Aage Fjortoft. Fjortoft got the story about it from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is now the manager of Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo once came to breakfast with a soda in his hand,” said Fjortoft.

“Ryan Giggs then pushed him against the wall and said: ‘Never do that again!’.”

While still active as a player, Giggs was also known to have a strict habit of maintaining his physical condition. Giggs scolding was then replied to Ronaldo with a hat-trick.

“Maybe. I don’t remember what it was,” Giggs said of the story.

“I might say, ‘We’re not used to this’ and then he scores a hat-trick! ‘I drink what I want, Giggsy!’,” Giggs said, imitating Ronaldo’s reply.
