An international football star has reportedly bought himself a mansion in one of Dubai’s most exclusive enclaves – but his representative has denied the claims to a media outlet.
Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the world’s highest-paid athletes, has reportedly expanded his property portfolio to include an address on Dubai’s glitzy Jumeirah Bay Island, also known as Billionaires’ Island.
Bloomberg first reported that the 38-year-old had acquired a resort on the seahorse-shaped island and it was expected to be handed over to him in 2024, according to sources who requested anonymity because the situation is private.
It’s unclear exactly how much Ronaldo paid for the estate, but other mega-mansions in the area are expected to sell for around $54.5 million each, the developers predicted in an interview, according to Bloomberg.
A representative for Ronaldo, however, denied the “rumours” when contacted for comment on the purchase by the Sun.
Other residents of this artificial, closed territory include Israeli gaming mogul Teddy Sagi, Saudi billionaire Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, the wife of Russian billionaire Andrei Skoch and Isabel dos Santos – the eldest child of the former dictator Angolan José Eduardo dos Santos, according to the media. reported.

In addition to being home to an extraordinary number of very wealthy individuals (brokers tell Bloomberg that the island has a higher number of billionaires per square mile than any other community in the wealth-saturated United Arab Emirates), Jumeirah Bay is also home to a yacht club, several high-end restaurants and the Bulgari Resort Dubai, an opulent hotel from the Italian fashion house.
The resort – which has its own marina, spa and concept store – frequently welcomes opulent and well-heeled visitors to the island, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov so far this year, Bloomberg reported.
On previous trips to the Middle East, Ronaldo has made headlines by renting some of the swankiest accommodations the region has to offer. Last year, The Post reported that the Portuguese pro was staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, located in one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom Tower in Riyadh.
The Al Nassr football club player’s one-month stay reportedly cost $300,000.
