Cristiano Ronaldo said the Saudi championship was “more competitive” than the French championship, in which he has never played, on Friday at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai.
“To be honest, I think the Saudi championship is not worse than the French championship. I think it’s more competitive,” said the five-time Ballon d’Or winner after being asked about the level of the Saudi Pro League.
“I think that now we are better than the French championship, and we continue to improve”

In Al-Nassr for a year
Saudi Arabia has launched major maneuvers to exist on the global football scene by attracting several of its stars to its championship, starting with the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrived at Al-Nassr last January.
