Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo broke a new record in Saturday’s match between Portugal and Germany in Matchday 2 of Group F of the European Football Championship, which ended in a victory for the Germans by the score of 4-2.
With his goal against Kroos’ teammates, Cristiano Ronaldo equaled Miroslav Klose as top scorer by combining his achievements at the Euro and the World Cup.
Top scorer in the World Cup with 16 goals, Klose added three more to the Euro for a total of 19, as much as Cristiano.
The Portuguese scored seven goals in the four World Cups in which he participated and 12 in the different editions of the European Championships in which he took part.
Cristiano and Klose beat Gerd Müller with 18 goals, Jürgen Klinsmann (16) and Michel Platini (14).
