Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes Investor in UFL, a New Competitor to FIFA and eFootball

The video game industry has strong competition in almost all categories, but the soccer field is dominated by EA Sports and its new FC24, formerly called FIFA. Far behind is eFootball (formerly PES), which became free a couple of years ago.

However, for some time now they have had a competitor that wants to confront them in the sector. This is UFL, a free video game developed by Strikerz Inc. Cristiano Ronaldo, who was already the cover star of the title, has now become an investor in the game.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player joined the project, investing a sum of 40 million dollars: “I am excited to be part of this project because UFL can become a new alternative to football video games,” Cristiano Ronaldo said in a statement. .

‘An important step forward’

Eugene Nashilov, CEO of Strikerz Inc, spoke about the addition of the 38-year-old footballer: “Having Cristiano Ronaldo join us as a partner and investor is an important step forward and an endorsement of our vision of creating the leading game for fans to football in the world,” he noted.

“UFL is committed to innovation, technology and entertainment and we see significant potential to do things differently in the gaming industry,” Nashilov said.

“This is an ambition shared by Cristiano and we are excited to work together, while continuing to engage with future investors, to create a game that fills a gap in the football game market by unifying a rich gaming experience with continuous progression and a focus fair”.

This installment still does not have a release date and has only published some gameplays. We will see if it can finally compete in an industry dominated by FC24 and eFootball.
