Cristiano Ronaldo as club coach, it’s confirmed!

Cristiano Ronaldo following in the footsteps of José Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson and others? Louis Saha believes the Portuguese international has what it takes to become “a very successful coach”.

Louis Saha knows Cristiano Ronaldo well, having shared the Manchester United dressing room with him from 2004 to 2008. The former French international has no doubt that, if the Al Nassr striker wants it, he has everything it takes to be “a very successful coach”.

“We saw his energy and his passion. He would have the desire of Diego Simeone, as well as the credibility of Zinedine Zidane. That combination, as well as all the experience gained under Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Sir Alex Ferguson…”, explained the former striker, now 46 years old.

Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed at Euro 2024 that he is entering the final years of his illustrious playing career, but the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend could still be in the football world.

“The knowledge he would bring would be crazy. It’s not just about football, but he represents a lot in terms of how to behave to achieve your goals. He could be a coach, a president of a club? What he has done is admirable. He is a human being who makes mistakes, like everyone else, but who has never stopped working hard,” added Louis Saha in comments relayed by Desporto AO Minuto.

The Portuguese megastar turns 40 this season and has already confirmed he will retire before the next European Championship in 2028. He has already left the door open to a managerial role after his retirement, revealing in an interview with World Soccer in 2017: “I think about it a lot. Right now, I don’t want to be a manager. In a few years, people will say I have the right profile, but I don’t want to be one. It’s too complicated. Right now, I just want to focus on my football, my passion. Nobody knows what the future holds. In five, six or seven years, I could change my mind and become a manager.”
